Physical Therapy and Exercise Equipment

Yeshivat Tiferet Shmuel

Yeshivat Teferet Shmuel is unique in its setting, as it provides professional special-education services within a Yeshiva environment. Combining individual learning plans for maximum independence alongside Torah studies, helps our students develop life skills and behaviors that align with the culture of their community. This distinctive educational format is evident in all aspects in the Yeshiva; from utilizing the Thursday night cholent kumzitz as a learning tool for teaching kitchen skills, time management and social communication, to preparing a Devar Torah as a means for processing information and developing reading and writing skills. For maximum integration, the premises reflect that of a typical Yeshiva, including Beis Midrash décor, a daily schedule of minyanim and sedarim.

Physical therapy and exercise play a crucial part in the development of children with disabilities, especially so of teenage boys. With advanced equipment, they can improve coordination and balance, increase motion range and enhance fine and gross motor skills. Physical exercise improves endurance and has many health benefits which directly affect the students’ daily life and advances their progress. As physical activity requires motivation, the right equipment is key in creating an atmosphere of vigor and positive energy to encourage the boys to get active.

The cost of the equipment needed is 18,119 GBP, and is based on the recommendation of our in-house licensed physical therapist. Aside from the actual equipment and storage closets for the smaller items (weights, cones etc), there will be a flatscreen and sound system to get the boys spirited and excited about exercise.
